It was Auburn's first game ever in the state of Missouri. If you have 4 OOC games, you should schedule 2 P5 schools at the minimum. That gives you 8 conference games plus 2 P5 OOC opponents. Having 2 games to schedule whoever you want is MORE THAN ENOUGH! Nobody needs 3 non P5 schools on their schedule and this goes out to everybody practicing this, not just Auburn or Baylor..
So, if they’re in the national title discussion, they’ll have ten. I don’t want to hate on Auburn, since they’re one of the few SEC schools that have shown a willingness to play outside SEC land for home and homes, but they could do better here. Auburn will open the 2017 season at home on Sept. 2 against the Georgia Southern Eagles. The game, which was officially announced on Monday, will be the second meeting between the two schools.

Eight SEC schools will only play four true road games this year. I’m inclined to agree with Travis, for a top-flight P5 program there should be at least 10 P5 (or Notre Dame/BYU) games on their schedule. For example, teams in conferences that play 8 in conference should play 2 outside, and teams that play 9 in conference play one additional P5 OCC. The Auburn Tigers have completed their 2017 non-conference football schedule, which includes games vs. Georgia Southern and at Clemson. For their 10 win season, Auburn was chosen by the College Football Playoff committee to play in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. It is Auburn's second appearance in a CFP New Year's Six bowl, after the 2017 Sugar Bowl to follow the 2016 season.
It was only the second time Auburn had won at Arkansas since 2009. The key play came late in the first half when Arkansas fumbled a punt which was recovered by Auburn. The Tigers scored on the ensuing drive to make their lead 17–3 and shift the momentum of the game. This was the second game of a three-game road stretch for the Tigers, as they preceded this game with a loss at LSU, and a game at Texas A&M after a bye week followed this game. This was the Tigers' fourth SEC victory of the season, as well as the fourth SEC game they won by at least 20 points and the fourth time they scored 40 or more points in an SEC contest.

The defense once again played well, holding the Bears to just 10 points, just 246 total yards, and only 3.7 yards per play. All games played on Saturdays unless otherwise noted. Some school's results have been altered by retroactive NCAA penalties.
The Bears revamped their football team in 2013 following a 70-year hiatus. The final game of the regular season was the annual Iron Bowl game against Alabama, with a trip to the SEC Championship on the line. The Tigers struck first as Kerryon Johnson took a direct snap and completed a jump pass to Nate Craig-Myers. The Crimson Tide responded with a long touchdown pass of their own. The Tigers went ahead at the end of the first half with a field goal from Daniel Carlson to go into halftime with a 10–7 lead. Alabama had a long, quick drive to begin the second half and scored to go ahead 14–10.

He had completed 7 of 8 passes to begin the game, he only completed 2 more the remainder of the game, although his receivers had many drops during the game. The Auburn Tigers only had 73 yards of offense the entire second half, which was a big part of the loss. Prior to this meeting, the two teams had only met once, a 32–17 victory for Auburn in the 1991 season. Auburn suspended QB Sean White, RB Kamryn Pettway, and WR Kyle Davis prior to this game. Maybe that is why their are more directional games on their sched’s now. Why beat the best around the country and in your region, just for a rematch and lose the crown because of one game………. They were ahead for about 58 minutes and fumbled on State’s goal line late in the fourth quarter. The Tigers then hit the road for a big game at “Death Valley” against the Clemson Tigers on Sept. 9.
Jarrett Stidham was also impressive, completing 16 of his 23 pass attempts for 214 yards. Daniel Carlson, after going 0 for 2 on field goals last week, had 4 good field goal attempts becoming the SEC's all-time leader in made field goals. This was Auburn's eighth win of the year, and their first victory over Georgia since 2013. The sixth game of the season was a home game against Ole Miss.
In the second half, the Tigers played more sloppily, but won going away 44–23. This was the first game of the season that Auburn allowed more than 14 points. Also, Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson became the SEC's all-time leading scorer after scoring his 413th point, breaking the record of 412 held by Georgia's Blair Walsh. In the fifth game of the season, it was a battle of teams in the top 25 as Auburn came in ranked #13 and Mississippi State was ranked #24. The Tigers dominated from the start, scoring a touchdown on their opening possession.
Playing Clemson and staying in the south for OOC doesn’t scream respect. SEC needs to realize that playing against each other won’t be enough like it was during the BCS. Schedule home and homes with OU, USC, Ohio State, Texas, Oregon, etc. Do that and dropping a game or two in the SEC won’t carry as much weight and voters will applaud the OOC.
After a Jarrett Stidham fumble, Mississippi State scored a field goal. However, Auburn used the long pass effectively, using it to set up their next touchdown and scoring their 3rd touchdown on a long pass. Auburn then shut out Mississippi State out in the 2nd half and scored 4 more times, giving them a 49–10 victory.
The only part of the Auburn schedule is the Mercer game. If they have another game available to play they should at least player another P5 team, and I don’t care who. A 6-6 Pitt or Syracuse or Indiana is better than an FBS game. Most of the big SEC schools want 7 home games per year for the additional revenue. After opening the season with nonconference opponents Georgia Southern , Clemson and Mercer , Auburn will open SEC play on Sept. 23 with its first-ever trip to play Missouri.

As an Auburn fan I would be happy with 1 power 5 game if the other 3 were against 1 Sun Belt/MAC team and 2 American/ C-USA/ Mountain West teams. I do not want 2 Sun Belt teams in the same season and no FCS teams.
